Over the hills and far to the north of Scotland, where the mountains touch the sky and the stars come down to bathe in the lochs, there is a Forest ancient and deep as night. This Forest is a remnant of the Great Wood of Caledon which once covered most of the Highlands and was the haunt of innumerable beings long before man came to these hills. Small pockets of the Great Wood of Caledon still exist in mysterious glens, havens for rare and secretive creatures, and this Forest is one of them. Its centre is dense and dimly lit, a green twilight where movements glimmer on the edge of vision and the trees whisper stories for anyone who will pause and listen. As at twilight, which is a between-time, the veils between worlds are thinner at the heart of the Forest and magic can happen....
Thus begin the chronicles of The Gnomes of Blaeberry Glen, one of my columns in the online "Faezine"
[link] starting with the Spring issue. I've just sent off the second part for the summer issue. My other column there being Wee Highland Snippets, I've been busy writing this week. There are some lovely articles, images and stories in Faezine, well worth a look

I hope you continue with them

Having just spent a merry little while taking an idle stroll through the gardens of your beautiful gallery I decided I'd stop and introduce myself properly!
I'm Kat, I live down in the valleys in South Wales, so a lot of the beautiful scenery you have on display here is quite striking to me since it reminds me of the beautiful country side we have here in the quieter parts of the UK!
I'm very pleased to have found your gallery this evening, you see a couple of months ago I started work on a Graphic Novel (big comic book really!) of Shakespeare's play; "A Midsummer Night's dream" .. being a fairy/fantasy fanatic like myself I'm sure I don't need to explain why I mention it!
I wanted to thank you for sharing your beautiful works with the rest of us, and ask if you'd mind if I add you to my watch list?
I also wanted to recommend another beautifully talented fantasy artist; have you come accross the work of Stephanie Pui-Mun Law? You can see her amazing work in her gallery over at *puimun - based on some of the beautiful paintings you have here, I think you might also enjoy her work.
Very best wishes,
.Kat.
